Obligations of the Landlord The obligations of a landlord are to: Make the premises available for occupation at the beginning of the tenancy. Not disturb the tenant's possession and peaceful enjoyment of the premises. Serve the tenant with a notice of landlord within seven days of the tenancy beginning. Maintain the premises in good repair in compliance with all building, health, fire, and safety standards. Perform any other obligations assigned to the landlord by the tenancy agreement.

Obligations of the Tenant The obligations of a tenant are to: Be considerate of other tenants. Ensure that they do not endanger other tenants. Not perform illegal acts or conduct illegal business on the premises (e.g. drug activity). Keep the premises reasonably clean. Prevent damages to the premises and/or common property of the premises. Tenants are held responsible for their visitors should they cause damage. Not interfere in the rights of the landlord. Move out when the rental agreement ends.
